Yesterday 10th of November 2016, MGIT trainers and students from the Diploma of IT Networking, visited vForum 2016 in Sydney. vForum is the premier IT tech event organized by VMware, the dominant player in cloud computing and virtualization. The theme for vForum this year was “beTomorrow” referring to the fact that the technology which is to facilitate clouding computing of tomorrow is here now.
The keynote speakers among others were Pat Gelsinger CEO and Bruce Davie, CTO Networking of VMware. Find out more here.
According to Salim Olime, MGIT Trainer, Dr Bruce Davie’s talk was inspiring. “He talked about NXS based network virtualization and SDN (Software Define Network), technology which according to him shall revolutionize networking in the same manner as hypervisors did to physical host based servers with server virtualization.” Dr Bruce Davie is a highly respected Australian born author, technology evangelist and inventor who is given credit for being the co developer of MPLS.
According to Daniel Gasston and Peter Davis, two of MGIT’s Diploma of IT Networking students who attended vForum, “the event was inspiring to say the least”. “Rubbing shoulders with thousands of top notch network engineers and chatting with some of the system engineers and sale representatives of event sponsors was very educational” added Peter. Peter and Daniel can’t wait to finish off their Diploma of IT Networking and join the workforce and be part of the “beTomorrow” future they were talking about.
