Recently MGIT staff members Malek Ebrahimi, Indrajit Das and Salim Olime attended Microsoft Ignite 2015 which was held from the 17th-20th of November 2015 in the Gold Coast. Microsoft Ignite is an event where IT professionals or enterprise developers are able to get the chance to meet and connect with some of the brightest minds in the industry as well as being able to take a look at the latest and best technology from Microsoft.
At Microsoft Ignite we got to take a look at some of the latest technology from Microsoft with the most interesting being the Hololens technology. Hololens technology is all about the use of holograms in everyday life which are accessible using the Microsoft Hololens device. It’s not exactly holograms that everyone will see though, you will need to use the Microsoft Hololens goggles in order to see the hologram images. The idea behind this technology is that it’s all about bringing objects out of your computer and having them visible in the room that you are in. It’s different from other virtual reality devices such as the Oculus Rift which is all about transporting you into a virtual environment completely different to the room you are in, Hololens is more about the blending of two worlds together as one.

One of our MGIT staff was lucky enough to get a chance to meet Matt McSpirit, a famous Microsoft technical evangelist during the event. Matt McSpirit has been a Microsoft employee since January 2006, he is also an MCSE, MCITP: Virtualization Administrator, and a VMware VCP5-DCV with extensive experience across a broad range of Microsoft technologies.
Matt Mcspirit was a prominent figure during the event and completed a variety of interesting presentations for the attendees. Luckily enough two of these presentations are online and are able to be watched in full below:

Software-Defined Networking in Windows Server 2016
Throughout the course of this four day event all of our staff had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the talks as well as getting the chance to take a look at the latest and best technology from Microsoft.
